Pedaler is an apparel line inspired by the urban street cyclist. We aim to develop garments that are technical enough to endure the issues associated with a cycling, yet styled and designed as street wear. The current full line is manufactured in the US.
We focus on the use of sustainable fabrics such as bamboo, organic cotton, hemp, tencel and recycled polyester and develop each garment to address its active purpose through design and detail.
A percentage of net profits received from the sales of our garments is donated to various cycling organizations around the nation. We also contribute/support people and organizations that are involved in charitable rides or other charitable events revolved around cycling, art and sustainability. Awareness of cycling issues, promoting cycling as an alternative mode of transportation, healthy lifestyle option, and art and cultural movement is our underlying vision.
SUSTAINABILITY + MANUFACTURING
We support the progression of green and sustainable responsibility in textile and garment manufacturing. Although not all parts of the manufacturing processes can be considered G&S, we believe that supporting G&S manufacturing efforts will eventually lead to higher standards on a broader scale.
By manufacturing our garments in the USA we have more knowledge and control of the production process. Garments made in the USA are made under strict labor regulations, they have higher quality craftsmanship and have a higher level of quality control which minimizes waste. We support the use of US made textiles and trims whenever and wherever we can. Buying US made textile and trims not only stimulates our domestic economy but also allows domestic manufacturers to stay in business.
We have embraced the use of sustainable textiles whenever and where ever we can. For this reason we have fallen in love with bamboo. However, not all bamboo is created equal and not all “bamboo” is really bamboo. Through much research and sampling, we have found the best bamboo available to us. The bamboo fiber in our garments is larger than many other bamboo textile manufacturer’s fibers and thus provides more anti-bacterial properties, higher durability and an overall high quality fabric that you can see and feel. Our bamboo supplier has all SGS Testing Certificates, adheres to the Global Organic Textile Standard in manufacturing, passes all Oeko Tex Standards and is certified with the Organic Crops Improvement Association International.
